The total number of students in ISD-719: 6864
That would give us a per student cost of $8480.00 ($58,208,457 divided by 6864 students)
Why does the school report $7416?
Because the school is using per WADM not per student calculations.
What is a WADM?
A State Calculation that weights students according to NEED for FUNDING!
School district 719 has 6864 students, but 7849 WADM.
That would calculate to 985 mythical students which the district uses
to drive down the apparent per student funding!
The WADM is fine to use to get adequate funding for the needs of students. To use the number to report per student
funding is wrong! |
