Council OKs plan for road through residential area as neighbors cry foul

As most people spent the pre-Christmas rush on Monday finishing their shopping, wrapping and baking, about 100 Prior Lake residents instead spent their time fighting a proposed road extension through their neighborhood.
Spring Lake Estates neighbors packed City Hall for a hearing on plans to connect Stemmer Ridge Road to County Road 82, which leads to Mystic Lake Casino. The cavernous council chambers weren’t enough to hold the crowd, and at least 30 people spilled out into the lobby and watched the meeting on a TV screen outside the chambers.
